Hello All,
I am back in the United States after a three-week trip to Colombia.
I hiked to the tip of Pico De Loro in Cali which is 2,860 feet above sea level.
It took 9 hours from start to finish which included several needed breaks.
I recommend it to others if you’re up for a challenge, but once was enough for me.
I also spent a lot of time on the trip thinking about creative ideas to write about, as well as business plans.
Before I left, I published “The Art Of The Contrarian - An Upcoming Book” here that you may have read.
I began outlining each chapter and came up with great ideas for how I wanted the book to flow.
However, I realized this would be a long-term project, and there was no point in rushing something like this.
*Please nobody steal the name/idea for the book and finish it before I do. Thnx.
So, I came up with some ideas I have for business while away (I get my best and most creative ideas while in Colombia, remember)
Anyways… Why am I here publishing a new article on this Substack?
Because I want to introduce Sideline Sports
What is Sideline Sports?
Sideline Sports is a sports collectibles/gaming brand where community members have access to…
Fantasy sports strategy content, such as sections of the Sorare MLB newsletter (Sideline Talk Podcast will always be 100% free)
A private Sideline Sports Discord channel (for all things Sorare/collectibles/strategy/good times/etc.)
Access to monthly Sorare (and likely other future stuff) card giveaways. Hosted by me. I’ll give away a card each month.
(Hopefully) access to IRL experiences, including tickets to games and community meetups (The Sorare people are pretty good at making this happen, and I have developed a solid relationship with them)
Any other fun ideas I come up with for subscribers (members-only MLB trivia?)
There will be nothing crypto-related until/if the industry evolves from where it currently stands.
This means no selling Sideline Sports NFTs, tokens, airdrops, or any of that stuff.
This is solely a membership that gives you access to exclusive content and good times.
How Much Do I Have To Pay??
Not much.
It will be $5 monthly, or you can pay $30 upfront for the whole year. Both prices unlock everything.
NOTE: If you don’t like paying for stuff, message me, and we can work something out.
Where Do I Pay??
Right here on Substack!
This may change later on, but right now, this is where I have a big following because of the newsletter.
And Substack makes it easy for payments because it can connect right to Stripe. (Stripe is the goat).
Why Tf Should I Care About This??
The Sorare MLB Newsletter helped countless people take down Sorare tournaments last season.
It’s the main piece of content I produce at the moment and the biggest perk of subscribing.
I had countless people DM me or tag me in tweets saying it helped them learn about the game and take down a tournament.
I put together a collage of everything below.
The Newsletter will remain partially free.
The sections available to PAID subscribers will be…
⏪ Game Week Rewind
Where I mention any notable winners from the week before and give them a shoutout. I also briefly break down their winning team.
☔️ Rain Check
Where I note any potential weather issues that could cause a postponement, which could limit hitters’ at-bats or knock a pitcher off the slate.
📞 Call To The Bullpen
Where I parse through the FanGraphs Closer page to note any closers who have pitched a lot recently - making them less likely to play in the upcoming game week. I also recommend any closer/RP that is a good play based on matchup/rest/other stuff
Everything else will be available for free.
A Few Other Things To Note:
This is a long-term project.
Right now I have mostly built a community of people interested in the hyper-niche game of Sorare MLB. I want to expand into other sports as time goes on and hopefully have a full team where we produce content for all sports/products.
I would love to build a website with tons of different content pieces like rankings/articles and something similar to the FantasyPros Pitcher Planner, which is necessary for Sorare MLB
The first 20 people who subscribe will get an “OG” role that they will have for life. This will be in the form of a badge on Discord.
Right now this is just for baseball szn. This means the $5 monthly payments would end in October. However, this is subject to change as the company grows into other sports. But it would not be without an official announcement. If you only like baseball, that’s cool, you can just pay for baseball.
If you’re angry (You won’t be) and want a refund, just message me, and I will give you one. (I’m like Chill Guy, chill af)
But Wait, It’s Not Baseball SZN Yet, It’s Actually Freezing Rn And There Is A Snowstorm Approaching, Why Would I Pay Now??
Good question.
If you sign up now, you will get access to the private Discord right away, participation in January, February, and March giveaways, AND access to preseason strategy articles to be posted here.
Plus, you can get one of the Lifetime OG Badges as one of the first 20 subscribers.
You absolutely do not have to sign up for the $5 monthly now, but it’s available.
I expect most people to sign up around mid-March or April anyway, because Opening Day is March 27.
That’s It!
I can’t wait to get started on this project and build the best and biggest community in the sports collectibles/gaming space.
Last season I thought the Sorare MLB team did an excellent job and I am pumped for this year.
I can’t wait to see everyone at the top of the leaderboards.
If you have any questions or are wondering how to get signed up… reach out to me here or on X (@Hunter_Himself) and I can help you out.
And follow the brand new Sideline Sports account on X (@SidelineSport_s)!
Thanks for reading and I hope to see you all on here soon!
