⚾️ Pitching Primer

Paul Skenes vs CHC (SP3)

I will note this spot has a weather issue for all the non-Premium subscribers. If we exclude weather, Skenes is arguably the best pitcher on the slate this week. His 2.42 xFIP is 6th in the Majors.

Zack Wheeler vs WSH (SP4)

It feels like Wheeler always dominates Washington. He is right behind Skenes in xFIP (2.55) and the Nats don’t provide much of a threat.

Garrett Crochet at TOR (SP7)

Crochet is 14th in K% (10.70), however, Toronto strikes out only 19% as a team, the third-lowest in MLB. He should still find success here as the bottom of the Jays’ offense doesn’t scare me too much.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs MIA (SP9)

Rostering Dodgers pitchers has been risky of late, but the spot for Yoshi here is elite. Yamamoto is third in xFIP (2.19) and 7th in K/9 (11.39) on the year. Miami strikes out at the 10th-highest rate in MLB (23.3%).

Other Starters Include:

  • Cole Ragans at TBR (SP12)

  • Jacob deGrom vs ATH (SP15)

  • Michael King vs SFG (SP20)

  • Freddy Peralta at CWS (SP24)

  • Hunter Greene vs STL (SP28)

  • Bobby Miller vs LAA (SP32)

💰 Stacks

Reds

Cincinnati plays four games at Great American Ballpark against some mediocre Cardinals pitchers.

This park is fantastic for offense, and the Reds have some pop at the top of their lineup. This could be another Elly De La Cruz week.

Rangers

Facing two lefties means the top of this Texas order looks primed for some offensive production this week.

The Rangers are 12th in ISO (.152) this year and Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, and Adolis Garcia at the top looks like a nice stack.

Braves

Atlanta draws just three games, but any team in Coors is going to pop off the page.

Atlanta is 10th in wOBA (.322), 9th in ISO (.160), and 12th in wRC+ (112) this year.

Other Stacks Include:

Dodgers, Tigers, Phillies, Twins
