⚾️ Pitching Primer

Tarik Skubal at COL (SP2)

This isn’t my favorite spot, but Skubal still got the top ranking for this week per FantasyPros.

Coors is tough to pitch for any pitcher, but if you have a Skubal card, you should still prioritize him when you can.

Skubal is fifth in xFIP this season (2.51).

Zack Wheeler at TBR (SP3)

This is yet another elite pitcher going into a hitter’s park, but Wheeler should still have success in a matchup with the Rays here.

Tampa Bay strikes out at the 13th-highest rate (22.5%).

Wheeler is seventh in xFIP this season (2.64).

Paul Skenes at STL (SP4)

Skenes is coming off his worst game of the season, where he gave up three homers to the Cardinals.

The Cardinals are not a threatening offense, and this park is much better for pitchers than Coors or Steinbrenner.

You could make the case that Skenes should be prioritized over both Skubal and Wheeler.

Other Starters Include:

  • Chris Sale vs CIN (SP5)

  • Cole Ragans vs CWS (SP13)

  • Spencer Schwellenbach vs CIN (SP16)

  • Pablo Lopez vs BAL (SP18)

  • Sonny Gray vs PIT (SP25)

  • Bryan Woo at ATH (SP30)

💰 Stacks

Royals

Strong spot for the Royals here.

They’ve been underwhelming on offense this season, ranking second-to-last in wRC+ (76).

However, the top of this order can make for a decent stack, in particular Bobby Witt Jr, who looks like the best play on the slate.

We should note that all four White Sox pitchers are right-handed, so Vinnie Pasquantino is a great play as well.

Dodgers

If there are only six teams with four games, and one of the is the Dodgers, they are immediately going to stand out regardless of matchup.

In this case, they also happen to have a strong matchup against Miami, and one game against Brandon Pfaadt of the Diamondbacks.

Play as many Dodgers as you can again this week.

Los Angeles ranks fourth in wRC+ (122) and second in ISO (202) this season.

Tigers

Detroit ranks just behind the Dodgers in wRC+ this season (114), and now they draw a Coors Field series for three games in this Game Week.

Despite having just three games, I love Riley Greene, Spencer Torkelson, and Kerry Carpenter here.

Other Stacks Include:

Reds, Diamondbacks, Braves, Yankees
