⚾️ Pitching Primer
Tarik Skubal vs BOS (SP2)
Skubal had a perfect game into the sixth inning against the Rangers in his last outing.
That’s the kind of stuff he brings to the table each time he toes the rubber.
This spot against Boston isn’t ideal, but he will have the splits advantage against Devers and Duran, and this game will be played away from Fenway.
Skubal is second in xFIP (2.35) and fifth in K/9 (11.33).
Paul Skenes at NYM (SP4)
This matchup is not ideal against the Mets, and Skenes hasn’t looked great in his last two outings, but Skenes can pop off in any matchup.
We just saw him strike out nine Dodgers over six clean innings not long ago.
I might prefer some other guys in better matchups, but if you’ve got one of his cards, you should be playing him where you can.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs ATH (SP9)
Yamamoto is coming off his worst outing of the season, where he allowed 5 runs to the Diamondbacks, but he should bounce back here against the A’s.
Yoshi is still fourth in xFIP (2.52) this year.
The A’s are surprisingly ranked ninth in ISO (.163) and eighth in wRC+ (110) this year, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Yamamoto have a big game here.
Other Starters Include:
Max Fried at SEA (SP10)
Dylan Cease vs LAA (SP13)
Jacob deGrom vs HOU (SP15)
Framber Valdez vs KCR (SP18)
Spencer Schwellenbach vs WSH (SP21)
Freddy Peralta at CLE (SP23)
Aaron Nola vs STL (SP24)
Bryan Woo vs NYY (SP26)
Nick Lodolo vs CWS (SP85)
💰 Stacks
Rangers
We know how bad Rockies pitching is at this point.
Despite getting 7 strong innings out of German Marquez yesterday, the Padres scored 37 runs at Coors, which taxed the Colorado bullpen quite a bit.
This Rangers series will be away from Coors, but Texas will still project as the top stack this week, especially with an extra game (albeit in a terrible matchup).
Braves
Atlanta also draws four games this week, and all four against starting pitchers ranked 134 or worse on FantasyPros.
Atlanta has been about league-average on offense this year, but we know the top of this lineup has some pop.
Riley, Olson, and Ozuna look like a nice stack for this week.
Nationals
On the flip side of that series, the Nationals could provide some sneaky value on this slate.
Outside Schwellenbach, these starters are ranked SP104 or worse.
This Nationals lineup is one of the most left-handed heavy teams in MLB, which works well here against four righties.
And what if I told you the Nationals had a higher wRC+ than the Braves?
Washington has a 94, and Atlanta has a 93.
Other Stacks Include:
Astros, Cubs, Reds, Dodgers
