⚾️ Pitching Primer
Tarik Skubal at STL (SP2)
Skubal is coming off games of 11 and 12 strikeouts, and now faces a weak-hitting St. Louis team. The Cards only whiff at 19% as a team, which ranks 26th in MLB, but Skubal still carries a massive floor into this game with his league-leading 2.19 xFIP and third-best 11.83 K/9.
Chris Sale at WSH (SP5)
Sale is second in K/9 (11.85) to only MacKenzie Gore, and he will face Gore’s team here in what is a favorable matchup. Washington has improved on offense from last year, but Sale should have a problem here. He has 36 Ks over his last four games.
Logan Webb vs KCR (SP6)
He has arguably the safest floor in baseball and now gets a strong matchup against a team with just an 81 wRC+, which ranks 27th in MLB. Kansas City surprisingly Ks at the second-lowest rate in MLB (18.9%), and Webb isn’t known for his strikeout-stuff, so a ceiling game may be off the table in this one.
Other Starters Include:
Garrett Crochet at NYM (SP7)
Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs ARI (SP8)
Spencer Strider at WSH (SP11)
Dylan Cease at TOR (SP13)
Joe Ryan vs CLE (SP15)
Hunter Brown at TBR (SP18)
Carlos Rondon vs TEX (SP29)
💰 Stacks
Phillies
This is one of the best spots all season for Philly, who come into this game hot off a Pirates sweep.
They will face two lefties and two righties in a four-game series at Coors Field.
On the year, they rank 12th in wRC+ (105), 9th in wOBA (.325), and 19th in ISO (.142).
I see those numbers all elevating by the time the weekend hits.
Mariners
The Mariners are also in a fantastic spot against the White Sox and one game against the Astros.
Seattle ranks within the top ten in wOBA, ISO, and wRC+ this season.
They will face four righties here, so give me all the Cal Raleigh and JP Crawford here.
And you should probably throw in JRod if you’re stacking :).
Athletics
This stack is more of a puke-stack compared to the two above, but this is a fantastic spot for the A’s this week.
The odds of an As stack outscoring Phillies or Mariners is slim, but if they do, you’d be in a great spot to win, because I don’t see many people stacking them.
And the Athletics are sneakily tied for 9th in wRC+ (106).
Other Stacks Include:
Orioles, Brewers, Tigers, Astros
