Sorare MLB GW17 Breakdown | Glasnow Returns
Welcome to the Sorare MLB Game Week 17 Breakdown!
My goal for these slate breakdowns is to create an all-in-one place for users to get an overview of each Game Week and use that information to pinpoint marketplace inefficiencies and construct a winning team.
I will be focusing on the Limited tier cards when referencing market prices as this is where the majority of Sorare users will be playing, and where there is the most liquid market.
You can find my slate breakdowns every Monday and Friday of the MLB season on Lucky Trader, or subscribe to my newsletter to get them in your inbox.

Let’s dive in!
⏪ Game Week Rewind
This data does not include the results from the 10 games on Thursday.
Due to a Friday obligation, this author was unable to finalize the numbers.
Apologies in advance! 😁
Michael Kopech looks poised to lead the charge amongst pitchers for the second week in a row.
Kopech followed up an 8-inning, 10-strikeout game vs Kansas City in GW15 with a 7-inning, 9 strikeout game against Cleveland this week.
He has been dominant ever since we learned what was wrong with him in this thread
There are some unfamiliar names here this week Rockies’ closer Pierce Johnson and Dodgers’ middle reliever Yency Almonte.
Johnson was able to close out a couple games in Coors with Miami’s offense looking dismal early in the series.
With one game still to go for the top three players, a single appearance could see one of them jump to the top.
Julio Daniel aka J.D. Martinez currently sits atop the hitter leaderboard with 3 homers and 5 RBIs in GW16.
Rookie Matt McLain appears to be the most likely candidate to surpass him with one more game to play this week at home vs. Miles Mikolas and the Cardinals.
Things can change with one day left, but it does look to be a very low scoring GW.

⚾️ Pitching Primer
Hunter Greene at CHC
Greene is currently 4th in the league with a 30.8% strikeout rate and 24th with a 3.69 xFIP.
He has been getting hit hard this year, with just 9.8% of the hits against him considered soft contact, which is the second lowest mark in the league.
The matchup vs Chicago is slightly above average, as the Cubs are bottom-4 in hard-hit percentage at 29.2%, and they strikeout at the 11th-highest rate in the league.
As long as Christopher Morel finally cools off, this could be a nice outing for Greene.
Speaking of Morel, I combined him with Barry Bonds using Midjourney, because it’s tough to distinguish the two these days.
Limited Price: ~$10
Mitch Keller at SEA
Keller is currently having the best season of his career.
In addition to having the sixth-best xFIP in the league, Keller is currently 5th among qualified pitchers with a 30.7% strikeout rate, only behind Strider, Ohtani, Gausman, and Hunter Greene.
Seattle strikes out at the second-highest clip in the league and this is one of the better ballparks in the league to pitch in.
Limited Price: ~$14
Other Starters Include:
~$14 Chris Sale at ARI
~$21 Kevin Gausman at MIN
~$114 Spencer Strider vs PHI
~$19 Hunter Brown at OAK
~$25 Framber Valdez at OAK
~$15 Luis Castillo vs PIT
~$17 George Kirby vs PIT
~$11 Freddy Peralta vs SFG
~$21 Corbin Burnes vs SFG
~$9 Eduardo Rodriguez vs CHW
~$175 Shohei Ohtani vs MIA
~$9 Pablo Lopez vs TOR
📞 Call To The Bullpen
Series’ I think can stay competitive in GW17:
BAL/TEX, SDP/NYY, WSH/KCR, TOR/MIN
Closer Options:
~$22 Felix Bautista
~$8 Will Smith
~$13 Josh Hader
~$2 Wandy Peralta
~$2 Kyle Finnegan
~$3 Scott Barlow
~$12 Jordan Romano
~$8 Jhoan Duran
💰 Stacks
Mets
New York gets the Coors field treatment this week and will face Connor Seabold, Chase Anderson and Austin Gomber of the Rockies.
Pete Alonso continues to rake with a league-leading 18 homers on the year, but there is a considerable drop off after that with Francisco Lindor (7) next and then Francisco Alvarez (5).
Even if the Mets are a one-man power army, they are still headed to the best ballpark for offense to face the worst starting rotation in the league.
Fire up some Mets stacks with confidence this week.
~$13 Brandon Nimmo
~$37 Francisco Lindor
~$63 Pete Alonso
~$7 Jeff McNeil
~$16 Brett Baty
Astros
Houston draws the best matchup from an opposing pitching standpoint, and is slated to face James Kaprielian, Kyle Muller, and Luis Medina of the Athletics in GW17.
The A’s currently sport the worst collective xFIP by a wide margin (5.54), which is .79 higher than the Nationals in 2nd.
The ballpark isn’t too great for offense, but the Astros can hit from both sides of the plate and have an incredibly deep roster.
~$22 Alex Bregman
~$73 Yordan Alvarez
~$46 Kyle Tucker
~$3 Jose Abreu
~$16 Jeremy Peña
Other Stacks To Consider:
Nationals, Cubs, White Sox, Rockies
Value Options (Under $20):
Middle Infielder:
~$19 Gleyber Torres, ~$16 Paul DeJong, ~$13 Tommy Edman, ~$10 Whit Merrifield,~$17 Sean Murphy
Corner Infielder:
~$19 Anthony Rizzo, ~$16 J.D. Martinez, ~$19 Yandy Diaz, ~$13 Christian Yelich, ~$19 Byron Buxton, ~$9 Josh Naylor
Outfielder:
~$13 Christian Yelich, ~$17 Seiya Suzuki, ~$19 Lars Nootbar, ~$18 Jared Kelenic, ~$15 Anthony Santander
