Welcome to the Sorare MLB GW17 Breakdown!

For those new here, I provide an all-in-one place to prepare Sorare MLB managers for the upcoming Game Week every Monday and Friday.

Feel free to message me on X at @Hunter_Himself if you have any questions.

Let’s dive in!

📢 Shoutouts

Shoutout to Snowshark for taking down Limited All Star with an Angels stack.

While everyone stacked Phillies, the contrarian move was to stack Angels.

The Angels’ outscoring them meant Snowshark was in a much better position to win.

📋 Roster Movements

In:

Ronald Acuña Jr. - Will make season debut today

Out:

Justin Verlander - Placed on 15-day IL with pectoral discomfort

Anthony Santander - Day to day with left hip inflammation

Jonah Heim - Day to day with compressed nerve in left hand

Jacob Wilson - Day to day with left forearm contusion

🔎 Multi Game Monitor

Four Games:

Red Sox, Orioles

Three Games:

Everyone else!

⚾️ Pitching Primer

Tarik Skubal vs CLE (SP2)

Cleveland strikes out at about league-average (21.4%) but Skubal has been incredible this season.

He is second in K/9 (11.92) and first in xFIP (2.24).

He has recorded at least eight strikeouts in all five of his last starts.

Prioritize this man wherever you can.

Zack Wheeler at ATH (SP3)

Wheeler is the 1B to Skubal this season.

He is 4th in K/9 (11.25) and 4th in xFIP (2.55) this year.

The Athletics don’t have the same ugly numbers on offense we saw last season, but Wheeler can carve through just about any lineup.

Paul Skenes vs MIL (SP4)

Skenes bounced back into form in his last start, punching out 9 Phillies over eight innings.

Milwaukee doesn’t scare me here.

They rank 25th in wRC+ with a score of 86.

Fire him up with confidence again.

Other Starters Include:

  • Chris Sale vs SDP (SP5)

  • Dylan Cease at ATL (SP14)

  • Framber Valdez vs SEA (SP17)

  • Pablo Lopez vs KCR (SP19)

  • Sonny Gray vs ARI (SP20)

  • Hunter Greene vs CHC (SP24)

  • Freddy Peralta at PIT (SP26)

💰 Stacks

Red Sox

Boston is the top stack this weekend, as they get an extra game because of the weather postponement yesterday.

The Sox are 6th in ISO (.167), 7th in wOBA (.326), and 11th in wRC+ (104).

Baltimore has been a disappointment this season, and we know Boston plays well at Fenway.

Orioles

Baltimore avoids Garrett Crochet in this one, which puts them in a pretty good spot.

Their offense hasn’t been great this season, but with everyone playing Boston, it could make sense to load up on some of these Orioles guys instead.

Yankees

The best team amongst the three-gamers is by far the Yankees.

They are facing Tanner Gordon today, not Chase Dollander, but they have a whopping 7.95 team total.

I think one or two of these guys might break the slate, and I’d bet that one of them is named Aaron Judge.

Other Stacks Include:

Rangers, Tigers, Phillies
