Sorare was good to me this week.
Not because I won any podiums (although I did alright), but because they hooked me up with a couple of MLS tickets for my birthday.
It was Charlotte FC versus Cincinnati FC. Charlotte scored on a penalty kick shortly after halftime and Cincinnati scored a tying goal in the 92nd minute.
I’m not gonna lie, I was fully expecting overtime. But the game ended just like that.
Nonetheless, it was an awesome experience and I love the real-life utility that Sorare offers its community members.
Don’t get me wrong I love soccer and the culture surrounding it.
But next time it will be an MLB game.
There are no ties in baseball.
⏪ Game Week Rewind
There was nothing to rewind last week so this section is making its debut here.
Last year I recapped the players who finished in the top five for starting pitchers, relievers, and hitters.
But I’ll be honest, I couldn’t figure out a way to see that with the new look of the Sorare platform.
So instead, I’m going to recap the Sorare players who won the Champion contests in the Limited, Rare, and Super Rare Tiers.
I think this will be more fun anyway.
I couldn’t figure out a way to make all the cards light up. Either way, shout out to Peaky00, Crapshoot, and Luke B. Having Corbin Burnes and Mookie Betts proved to be a winning strategy.

Jesus Luzardo vs LAA
Luzardo had a solid outing on Opening Day against the Pirates, striking out eight over five innings of work, with his only blemish being a two-run homer to Bryan Reynolds in the third inning.
The eight K’s against the team that struck out the ninth-most last season (24%) is what stands out to me here.
In Game Week 2, Luzardo will face the Angels who look like one of the top offenses to target with pitchers so far this year.
I wrote up Corbin Burnes last week against these Halos, and he finished as one of the top pitchers in Game Week 1, finishing with 11 punch-outs and just one hit (a solo homer to Mike Trout) over six innings of work.
Luzardo should have no problem carving up the lesser of the two Los Angeles-based teams at home in Game Week 2.
Other Starters Include:
Spencer Strider at CWS
Corbin Burnes vs KCR
Tyler Glasnow vs SFG
Tarik Skubal at NYM
Cole Ragans at BAL
📞 Call To The Bullpen
Four teams play four games this week, which means we can get a big advantage from starting closers from these teams.
It does so happen that many of the four-gamers this week are not actually “good” baseball teams, so don’t shy away from starting some studs from three-gamers as well.
Emmanuel Clase would be the exception. He led the league in saves last year (44) and the Guardians get three games against Seattle and one against the Twins this week.
He’s the top option on the board.
Will Smith
Ryan Helsley
Andrew Nardi
Emmanuel Clase (top option)
Alexis Diaz
Andres Muñoz
💰 Stacks
Marlins
If you’re stacking this week, it’s probably wise to focus on the five teams playing the maximum number of games in Game Week 2. These hitters will get 25% more at-bats then those playing just three games this week. (As long as you are an everyday staple in the lineup of course).
Yes, Miami just got swept by the Pirates at home (hence this article’s title). But the Marlins were still able to muster up five and seven runs in two of those games, and Pittsburgh is actually a sneaky good team this year.
So I’m not too concerned about the small sample. Miami will face Chase Silseth, Tyler Anderson, and Pablo Sandoval of the Angels, followed by Lance Lynn of the Cardinals.
There’s nothing to be afraid of here. Sandoval pitched for the Halos on Opening Day and didn’t make it out of the second inning. lance Lynn had the highest HR/9 of any qualified pitcher last year (2.16).
Loading up on some fish this week could prove to be a profitable strategy.
