⚾️ Pitching Primer
Zack Wheeler at TOR (SP3)
Wheeler is 6th in K/9 (11.09) and 5th in xFIP (2.69).
The issue here is that Toronto strikes out at the lowest rate in MLB (17.9%).
Wheeler has a strong floor here, but it’s fair to question the strikeout ceiling.
Paul Skenes at CHC (SP4)
Skenes hasn’t allowed more than one run in a start since May 6th.
One of his worst starts of the season came against the Cubs, but with his form right now, he should have success here.
The Cubs have the sixth-lowest K% (20.3%).
Chris Sale vs COL (SP5)
Sale is my preferred option over the two options ranked above him on FantasyPros.
Colorado strikes out at the second-highest rate in MLB (26.2%).
Sale is 2nd in K/9 (11.94), which makes this a potential spot for double-digit strikeouts.
And this game is being played in Atlanta.
Other Starters Include:
Garrett Crochet vs NYY (SP7)
Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs SFG (SP8)
Max Fried at BOS (SP10)
George Kirby vs CLE (SP11)
Jacob deGrom vs CWS (SP12)
Hunter Brown vs MIN (SP17)
Joe Ryan at HOU (SP19)
Christopher Sanchez at TOR (SP24)
MacKenzie Gore vs MIA (SP25)
Jack Flaherty vs CIN (SP34)
💰 Stacks
Braves
The Braves draw the best matchup on the board at home against Colorado.
Atlanta started off the season slow, but are up to 18th in wRC+ (97) now.
Teams have been teeing off against the Rockies all season, so a Ronald Acuña, Austin Riley, Matt Olson stack will be a popular one this week.
It could make sense to pivot somewhere else, but the upside here can’t be ignored.
Rangers
The Rangers looked abysmal for a stretch, but they scored 16 runs in two of their last three games.
White Sox pitching doesn’t pose any threat, so fire up some Marcus Semien and Corey Seager this weekend.
Other Stacks Include:
Yankees, Dodgers, Nationals, Angels
