⚾️ Pitching Primer
Zack Wheeler vs NYM (SP3)
I don’t love this spot for Wheeler against a good offense that knows him well, but he did rack up nine Ks over 6 innings in his last start against the Mets.
Outside of one poor game against Atlanta, he’s had an incredible floor in fantasy over his past ten starts.
He’s third in xFIP (2.55) and 4th in K/9 (11.25)
Logan Gilbert at CHC (SP6)
Gilbert has allowed more than 2 runs just once in his 7 starts this year.
The Cubs are a tough matchup, though. They strike out about league-average and they are third in wRC+ (115).
You could make a case for him over Wheeler, and as the top arm on this slate.
George Kirby at CHC (SP10)
Gilbert’s teammate has a funky-looking game through his five starts this season.
He flashed his upside with a 14-strikeout performance against the Angels, but he’s had no more than five punch-outs in the other four.
He draws the same tough matchup against Chicago, but I’d feel confident about rolling out Kirby on this slate.
Other Starters Include:
Max Fried vs BAL (SP11)
Dylan Cease vs KCR (SP12)
Jacob deGrom at PIT (SP15)
Joe Ryan at MIL (SP17)
Hunter Brown at LAA (SP18)
💰 Stacks
Diamondbacks
The good news: It’s the Diamondbacks in Coors, where two of the three games are supposed to hit 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
The bad news: Corbin Carroll is day-to-day with a hand injury.
This is still an excellent spot for Arizona. These three pitchers are ranked SP441 or worse on FantasyPros.
Blue Jays
Toronto draws a great matchup against the White Sox at home.
I’m not seeing Sunday’s pitcher listed on FantasyPros, but unlike last season, they don’t have an ace to worry about.
I like a Bo Bichette, Vlad Guerrero, Alejandro Kirk stack here.
Other Stacks Include:
Giants, Dodgers, Guardians, Yankees
