Welcome to the Sorare MLB GW25 Breakdown.
For those new here, I provide an all-in-one place to prepare Sorare MLB managers for the upcoming Game Week every Monday and Friday.
I’ll be traveling on Friday so this newsletter is being released a day earlier.
This means no Game Week Rewind but otherwise everything else will be up to date!
Feel free to message me on X at @Hunter_Himself if you have any questions or want to see something added to the newsletter!
Let’s dive in!

⚾️ Pitching Primer
Tyler Glasnow vs LAA
Glasnow should cruise through this start against the hapless Angels in this Los Angeles vs. Los Angeles “Freeway Series”.
The Angels strike out at a league-average rate and rank at or slightly below league-average in most offensive metrics.
Glasnow is mostly matchup-proof with his 34.7% strikeout rate and 2.33 xFIP, both of which rank second in the league.
Jack Flaherty vs CWS
Flaherty draws the White Sox, who, by most metrics, are the worst-hitting team in MLB.
They did get Luis Robert back recently, but this team is still one of the best to target with pitchers
Flaherty has the best xFIP amongst qualified starters (2.17).
Braxton Garrett vs SEA
He’s not my favorite option on the board, but if you want a cheap pickup for this week then it could be smart to roll with Garrett against Seattle.
The Mariners swing and miss at a league-leading rate and Garrett has a respectable 21.2% K% and a 3.38 xFIP.
The best part is his Sorare cards can be bought for under $2 in the marketplace.
Other Starters Include:
Zack Wheeler vs ARI
Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs LAA
Bailey Ober at OAK
George Kirby at MIA
Logan Gilbert at MIA
Shota Imanaga vs NYM
📞 Call To The Bullpen
There are a lot of closers to choose from in GW25 with 26 teams playing three games.
I’d recommend rostering closers who are going to be in close matchups and who also haven’t pitched in a while.
Closer Options:
Craig Kimbrel - BAL
Emmanuel Clase - CLE
Jason Foley - DET
Josh Hader - HOU
Andres Muñoz - SEA
Jose Alvarado - PHI
💰 Stacks
Red Sox
Boston has been one of the hottest teams on offense and now they will travel to Great American Ballpark to face the three Reds’ pitchers who don’t scare me.
They will not face Nick Lodolo or Hunter Greene in this series. Both have been dominant over their last few starts.
The Sox have quietly moved up to fifth in ISO (.163) and fifth in wOBA (.325).
Abbott and Montas both have xFIPs north of 4.50 while Carson Spiers sports just an 18.9% strikeout rate.
This is the best park in the league for homers and the only downside for Boston bats is questionable weather on Sunday.
Twins
The Twins just beat up Oakland pitching and now they will get another turn, this time at the Oakland Coliseum.
With the help of Royce Lewis, Minnesota has moved up to fourth in ISO (.170), while ranking eighth in both wOBA (.320) and wRC+ (109).
They will draw two lefties here in Sears and Harris so load up on Lewis, Correa, and Jeffers once again.
Nationals
Washington has a weak offense, but you can’t ignore the matchup against Colorado at home.
The Dodgers just scored a billion runs in this spot as the Rockies’ pitching staff continues to be the worst in the league by far.
As Rockies fan and season ticket holder Talor Meyer likes to say…
Maybe don’t play a full stack here but I like the idea of mixing in a few Nats bats throughout some teams this week.
If C.J. Abrams is back in the lineup he is my favorite, but I also like Lane Thomas and Jesse Winker.
There you have it, the Sorare MLB Slate Breakdown for Game Week 25.
All statistics referenced in this newsletter were pulled from FanGraphs.
All pitcher matchups were referenced from FantasyPros.
I release these every Monday and Friday before lineup lock to help you all with preparing for the slate and setting your teams.
I hope to see everyone at the top of the leaderboards!
