Let’s dive in!
⏪ Game Week Rewind
Shoutout to Nick Mitch who dominated this week with Pablo Lopez and his 14 strikeouts.
Pablo hasn’t been having the season we expected so it was nice to see him finally have a big game.
Also, Jumpshoot currently leads the Limited June Chase leaderboard and is on pace to secure the VIP All Star Week tickets.
HimerSompson did not need Pablo Lopez to secure fifth place in Limited All Star this week.
BorowskiDaChef secured fourth place in the Rare June Chase and currently sits in 21st overall.

☔️ Rain Check
Chicago - 43% chance thunderstorms Monday/40% chance thunderstorms Tuesday *RISK* - There is risk here because the White Sox start a new series on Thursday with the Braves. They wouldn’t be able to do a doubleheader on Thursday with the Dodgers if the Monday or Tuesday game gets postponed.
Baltimore - 51% chance PM thunderstorms Wednesday *RISK* - Same issue here. The Orioles start a new series on Thursday so a postponement wouldn’t occur. This puts Corbin Burnes at Risk.
Cincinnati - 77% chance of thunderstorms Wednesday
Kansas City - 38% chance PM showers Thursday *Some Risk*
New York City - 60% chance PM thunderstorms Wednesday
⚾️ Pitching Primer
Chris Sale at STL
Outside of one game against Oakland, Sale has been the most consistent pitcher in baseball. In a tough matchup against the Yankees on Friday, he struck out 8 and gave up only one run. St. Louis strikes out slightly higher than league-average (22.7%) but Sale is matchup-proof either way.
Taj Bradley vs SEA
From a strikeout perspective, this may be the best spot on the board. Seattle leads the board in K% (27.5%) and Taj is 15th in strikeout-rate at 28.8%. He has flashed upside recently when he struck out 11 Cubs over 7 innings. He also gave up nine runs to the Orioles at the beginning of June, so this play carries some risk as well.
Hunter Brown vs COL
Brown has been dominant over his last three starts and now draws the Rockies at home. He gave up one run combined to the White Sox, Tigers, and Angels over his last three starts. He has a respectable 25% K-rate on the year, along with a 3.70 xFIP.
Other Starters Include:
Cole Ragans vs MIA
Tanner Houck vs TOR
Freddy Peralta vs TEX
Joe Ryan at ARI
Gerrit Cole at NYM
Aaron Nola at DET
Dylan Cease vs WSH
Luis Castillo at TBR
Shota Imanaga at SFG
Kevin Gausman at BOS
Tarik Skubal vs PHI
📞 Call To The Bullpen
It makes sense to target a closer on one of the teams who play four games this week.
We also want to factor in close matchups/how much rest each closer has recently received.
Closer Options:
Craig Kimbrel - BAL - Hasn’t started over the last four days
Camilo Doval - SFG - Hasn’t started over the last four days
Jose Alvarado - PHI
Alexis Diaz - CIN
Hector Neris - CHC
Jason Foley - DET
*I would bump down Emmanuel Clase here because he has started three times over the Guardians’ last four games. He may require rest.
💰 Stacks
Braves
Atlanta will play three games on the road in St. Louis and one game on the road in Chicago.
The one risk here is potential weather in the Thursday game as mentioned above, but overall this is a great spot for the Braves offense.
Cardinals pitching is nothing to be feared and the Braves are sixth in ISO (.162) and 13th in wOBA (.314).
Reds
From an overall ballpark, opposing pitching, and weather standpoint, the Reds stand out as arguably the top stack on the board.
The problem is the Reds offense hasn’t been all that great this year.
They are 17th in ISO (.145), 20th in wOBA (.300), and 26th in wRC+ (88).
But Great American Ballpark is great for offense and none of these pitchers scare me.
Other Stacks To Consider:
Phillies, Orioles, Royals, Guardians
