Let’s dive in!
⏪ Game Week Rewind
Jumpshoot took down Rare NL this week with the help of a huge game from Christian Walker.
Walker went 11-17 with FIVE homers in this GW. That might be the biggest score I’ve seen in Sorare MLB but someone can fact-check me.
Also, KLamp dominated the Field General leaderboard with the help of William Contreras, Yainer Diaz, and Francisco Alvarez.
Contreras was the obvious play from the start and he delivered with a homer and eight total hits.
A notable bust for Field Generals was Adley Rutschman, who failed to record a hit over 13 plate appearances.
And finally congrats to Docscrew34 who won both Rare Pro and Super Rare All Star.

☔️ Rain Check
Colorado, Atlanta, and Minnesota all appear to carry the most weather risk this week.
None of these spots have over a 58% chance of poor weather so I think we should be safe this week.
Atlanta - Scattered thunderstorms all weekend. 53% Friday, 45% Saturday, 58% Sunday.
New York City - 37% chance PM thunderstorms Friday, 49% chance thunderstorms Saturday
Chicago - 31% chance PM showers Sunday - low enough probability that I won’t give it the risk tag.
Cincinnati - 48% chance of scattered thunderstorms Friday
Colorado - 58% chance PM thunderstorms Sunday
Minnesota - 41% PM thunderstorms Saturday, 52% showers Sunday
Washington D.C. - 45% chance PM thunderstorms Saturday
⚾️ Pitching Primer
Garrett Crochet at MIA
You know Crochet is good when 11 strikeouts against the Rockies were less than I predicted.
Miami just got wrecked by Kutter Crawford, Bryan Bello, and Nick Pivetta this week, and they look like one of the most flat offenses in baseball.
Crochet’s 12.52 K/9 leads baseball by a significant margin.
Tyler Glasnow vs MIL
The Brew Crew might have the Coors hangover here, like many Sorare players might also have after celebrating July 4th last night.
Anyways, I respect Milwaukee as an offense but Glasnow has been unstoppable this season.
He did have a poor outing in his last start but he still sports the second-highest K/9 (11.88) and the third-highest xFIP (2.44).
Milwaukee strikes out at exactly league-average (22.3%)
Sonny Gray at WSH
Gray is seventh in K/9 (11.19) and fifth in xFIP (2.78).
The Nationals don’t strike out as much as we’d like (20.8%) but they also don’t pack that much of a punch on offense.
Adding James Wood to this lineup brings the K% up a bit. He’s projected to punch out around 30%.
Other Starters Include:
Taj Bradley at TEX
Tanner Bibee vs SFG
Dylan Cease vs ARI
Tarik Skubal at CIN
Pablo Lopez vs HOU
Aaron Nola at ATL
George Kirby vs TOR
Kevin Gausman at SEA
📞 Call To The Bullpen
All teams play three games so our best bet is to find closers who 1. Haven’t pitched too much lately, 2. are playing in games that look to be competitive, and 3. get frequent save opportunities from their team.
This is difficult to do, but I will list some guys here that I think stand out.
*Note that Kyle Finnegan has started in four of his last five games and may require rest this week.
Closer Options
Kenley Jansen - BOS - *Hasn’t pitched in three games
Jason Foley - DET - *Hasn’t pitched in four games
Ryan Helsley - STL
Emmanuel Clase - CLE
Clay Holmes - NYY
Raisel Iglesias - ATL
💰 Stacks
Royals
Kansas City heads to Denver to take on a trio of weak Rockies pitchers.
The two lefties in Freeland and Gomber make me lean toward the right-handed hitters in this Royals lineup, notably Bobby Witt Jr, Maikel Garcia, Sal Perez, and Hunter Renfroe.
Colorado’s bullpen has a league-worst 4.58 xFIP, so early exits from these starters would be preferred.
Orioles
I don’t love this ballpark for offense, but Baltimore’s offense can always do some damage and now they will face three weak A’s pitchers.
Spence has a 3.79 xFIP but his stats across the board look mediocre.
Harris has a 4.70 and Medina has an ugly 5.36.
Only Harris is left-handed here, so Gunnar Henderson is still very much in play, as well as the rest of this right-handed heavy lineup.
Other Stacks Include:
White Sox, Cubs, Yankees, Padres
