I have changed up a few segments in this newsletter this week as you will soon see.
I want to make sure to provide the most actionable info for each game week, while not going over the top breaking down any specific players.
This will save both me and the reader time.
I also realized that weather impacts Sorare MLB more than people might think, so I added a segment there.
Please feel free to suggest anything else you want to see added or removed to this newsletter going forward!

Now let’s dive into game week 3!

☔️ Rain Check
New segment unlocked.
The weather had been playing a big factor to start the season, so I decided I’d add a section warning about the games that could potentially be affected by weather.
Because you know I’m a weatherman and all.
But like my guy OrangeFly always says… Starting a pitcher on the last day of a game week carries a lot more risk than expected.
A weather postponement on any of the days in the game week would bump said pitcher off the slate entirely.
Pittsburgh - Rainy/Snowy in the AM Friday, shower or two in the afternoon
Chicago - 70% chance of rain Sunday
Cincinnati - 50% chance of rain Friday
Colorado - No rain issue but super windy - bump up to bats 2x
Milwaukee - 80% chance of rain Sunday
⚾️ Pitching Primer
I’m going to change up this segment a bit going forward.
I will list the top five pitchers that I have going on this slate with one or two sentences each, rather than diving into one specific pitcher.
Tarik Skubal vs OAK - Elite pitcher against arguably the top matchup for pitchers. Pretty obvious play here.
Bobby Miller at CHC - Looked incredible in his first start against St. Louis. Chicago has a neutral lineup.
Aaron Nola at WSH - Washington doesn’t strikeout that much and Nola got rocked by Atlanta in his first start. This matchup should prove easier overall though.
Kevin Gausman at NYY - I hate the matchup but Gausman has great stuff. New York struck out at the tenth-highest clip last season (23.9%).
Freddy Peralta vs SEA - He looked great against the Mets in his first start. Seattle has some scary bats but also struck out at the second-highest rate last year (25.9%).
📞 Call To The Bullpen
While I’m at it, I will also revamp the bullpen segment.
Providing analysis here seems unnecessary, so I will rank my top bullpen arms here considering matchups, number of games, the frequency their team uses them, overall talent, and whether their teams’ games can stay competitive.
Jose Alvarado
Alexis Diaz
Alex Lange
Craig Kimbrel
Andres Muñoz
💰 Stacks
Similar to the new Pitching Primer segment, here I will list my top five offenses.
I am considering opposing pitching matchups, ballpark factors, weather, and the overall strength of the lineup.
Rays - Coors field against Austin Gomber, Ryan Feltner, and Dakota Hudson with the wind gusting up to 40mph. Sign me up.
Phillies - At Washington versus Patrick Corbin, Jake Irvin, and MacKenzie Gore. Fire up those righties in particular.
Tigers - the 5-1 Tigers now get a dream matchup against Oakland. Torkelson and Greene make for an awesome 2-man stack in particular.
Braves - Always stack the Braves. But this week they will face Arizona pitchers not names Zac Gallen.
Rockies - This offense hasn’t been good. But Opening Weekend in Colorado could be just what they need. They won’t face Eflin or Civale here either.
There you have it, the Sorare MLB Slate Breakdown for Game Week 3.
All statistics referenced in this newsletter were pulled from Fangraphs.
All price references were pulled from the Limited tier.
I release these every Monday and Friday before lineup lock to help you all with preparing for the slate and setting your teams.
I hope to see everyone at the top of the leaderboards!
