Welcome to the Sorare MLB GW33 Breakdown.
For those new here, I provide an all-in-one place to prepare Sorare MLB managers for the upcoming Game Week every Monday and Friday.
I have returned from the All-Star events in Texas with the Sorare team.
It was an incredible week, but I am ready to get back to writing this newsletter and playing in the July Chase on Sorare MLB.
Feel free to message me on X at @Hunter_Himself if you have any questions or want to see something added to the newsletter!
Let’s dive in!
⏪ Game Week Rewind
Shoutout to Bob Flynn, aka OrangeFly, and Jakerea94 for placing 2nd and 3rd in the Limited All-Star contest.
Ohtani, Soto, and Duran were the three players that put up big games in the All-Star game.
Bob won $250, an Ohtani card, and a jersey. Not a bad reward at all.
Jake is a loyal reader of this newsletter and won because he played an Ohtani card that he won earlier in the year.
Congrats to both!

☔️ Rain Check
The weather doesn’t look too bad this weekend.
The Braves series is the only one that I can see having to postpone on Sunday, but it’s not guaranteed.
Atlanta - Rain/thunder all weekend including 57% chance Sunday *RISK*
Kansas City - 36% chance PM thunderstorms Sunday
Colorado - Thunderstorms all weekend including 38% chance Sunday
⚾️ Pitching Primer
Seth Lugo vs CWS
Lugo’s been one of the biggest surprises this year.
The 34-year-old has been one of the best pitchers this year and will draw a fantastic matchup against the White Sox in GW32.
Chicago is last in wRC+ (77), 29th in ISO (.127), and last in wOBA (.278).
Lugo has a respectable 8.22 K/9 and a 0.78 HR/9.
The best part is some of his classic cards can be played at RP.
Freddy Peralta at MIN
Peralta has the fifth-highest K/9 (11.36) but has dropped to 23rd in xFIP (3.47).
The matchup against Minnesota doesn’t quite jump off the page, but this team still strikes out 20.8% of the time and a lot of their power comes from the right side.
They will also be without Carlos Correa and Jose Miranda.
Kevin Gausman vs DET
I like both Gausman and Bassitt here against this Tigers team that has quite a few holes in it.
Detroit strikes out at the 11th-highest rate (23.1%) and ranks 23rd in wRC+ (94).
Gausman has been more shaky this year compared to what we are used to, but he still has the 23rd-highest K/9 in baseball (9.00).
Other Starters Include:
Max Fried vs STL
Corbin Burnes at TEX
Framber Valdez at SEA
Shota Imanaga vs ARI
Pablo Lopez vs MIL
Gerrit Cole vs TBR
Aaron Nola at PIT
Chris Bassitt vs DET
MacKenzie Gore vs CIN
📞 Call To The Bullpen
28 out of 30 teams play three games, and all closers have been rested because of the All-Star break.
Your guess as to which closer to pick is as good as mine.
The only strategy is to target the ones who should be in competitive games.
Closer Options:
Andres Munoz - SEA
Kenley Jansen - BOS (revenge game)
Emmanuel Clase - CLE
Mason Miller - OAK
Kirby Yates - TEX (doesn’t have to travel, won’t be jet-lagged, if that matters)
Kyle Finnegan - WSH
💰 Stacks
Giants
San Francisco will play three games at Coors Field against the Rockies.
This typically makes teams stand out as the top plays of the week.
They will face two lefties in Freeland and Gomber so the righties for the Giants immediately stand out.
Heliot Ramos and Matt Chapman stand out as great plays but you can’t go wrong with anyone at the top of the order.
Royals
The Royals are in a great spot against this weak White Sox rotation that won’t include Garrett Crochet.
All three guys are right-handed but I love Bobby Witt Jr. and Sal Perez here.
Vinnie Pasquantino stands out as a great option from the left side.
Hopefully Witt is fully recovered from the home run derby, where he came just shy of winning.
Athletics
This one might sound crazy but I like the idea of stacking a couple of Oakland power bats here.
I’m not afraid of any of these Angels pitchers and the A’s are sneakily ranked 11th in ISO (.161).
Give me Brent Rooker and the rookie Lawrence Butler.
Other Stacks Include:
Phillies, Red Sox, Reds
