☔️ Rain Check
The weather looks pretty good for this weekend across the country.
The Cards/Nats game could potentially have an issue, but I would bet on them getting all three games in.
Chicago - 42% chance of showers Sunday
St. Louis - 54% chance PM showers Saturday/41% chance scattered thunderstorms Sunday
⚾️ Pitching Primer
Garrett Crochet vs SEA
It feels like I was just here writing about Crochet vs the Mariners.
He faced them on June 13th and had a career-high 13 strikeouts.
Seattle continues to trend in the wrong direction on offense as they just lost J.P. Crawford and Julio Rodriguez to the IL.
They just added Randy Arozarena to their team and he should be in there on Sunday by the time Crochet is scheduled to pitch.
Either way, Arozarena strikes out at a 24.7% clip and this team as a whole leads the league at 28%.
Crochet leads MLB with a 12.69 K/9. This one should be fun.
Tarik Skubal vs MIN
Skubal has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this year and now draws a Minnesota offense that should be without both Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton.
Skubal is ninth in K/9 (10.68) and sixth in xFIP (2.72).
The Twins don’t strike out a ton (21%) but their offense has shown weakness lately and Skubal is essentially matchup-proof anyways.
Other Starters Include:
Cole Ragans vs CHC
Freddy Peralta vs MIA
Pablo Lopez at DET
Zac Gallen vs PIT
Blake Snell vs COL
George Kirby at CWS
Sony Gray vs WSH
📞 Call To The Bullpen
The Giants and Rockies both play four games so their closers both rise to the top of the charts this week.
Someone named Victor Vodnik is now listed as the closer for the Rockies and he’s got some cheap cards in the Sorare marketplace.
Camilo Doval for the Giants would be the top option overall this week.
Closer Options:
Camilo Doval
Viktor Vodnik
Ryan Helsley
Emmanuel Clase
Kyle Finnegan
Craig Kimbrel
💰 Stacks
Giants
Yes this park is bad for offense and yes the Giants offense is underwhelming, but this is far and away the best spot in GW35.
The Giants are one of two teams playing four games and they will face this quartet of Colorado pitchers that are all ranked 282 or higher on FantasyPros.
Freeland and Gomber are lefties so I love Matt Chapman, Heliot Ramos, and Jorge Soler here.
But LaMonte Wade Jr. and Michael Conforto look like strong plays as well.
Phillies
Philly will face the backend of the Guardians rotation that has been notably worse than Tanner Bibee and Gavin Williams at the front of it.
Citizens Bank Park is good for offense and this team is ranked in the top ten in ISO, wOBA, and wRC+.
All three are righties so load up on Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, and Bryson Stott.
Other Stacks Include:
Yankees, Red Sox, Rockies, Angels
