Let’s dive in!
⏪ Game Week Rewind
These are my favorite messages to wake up to.
VARWolves won Rare Pro for the second time with the help of a big game from Zack Wheeler, who I wrote about in Friday’s newsletter.
He used the Aaron Judge card he won from his first victory to win this one.
Also, the Denver Daddies took down the first International Icons tournament.
In this contest only foreign-born players were eligible.
Ohtani was the obvious play here, but Talor rounded it out with a couple of Boston bats and the Canadien-born Nick Pivetta.
The second and final International Icons contest begins in GW38.

☔️ Rain Check
There are some key cities to note for weather this week.
Colorado, NYC, and Denver are the ones I have added the RISK tag to.
Plan accordingly.
Cleveland - Wind and hail possible Monday/thunderstorms Tuesday, but looks good Wednesday. Should be able to squeeze in a doubleheader if needed.
Chicago - Life-threatening flooding Monday but Wednesday looks clear.
Colorado - PM thunderstorms Thursday *RISK*
New York City - Rain all four days with a 75% chance Thursday *RISK*
Pittsburgh - Some rain throughout the week but Thursday looks clear if a doubleheader is needed.
Washington D.C. - Rainy all week including a 73% chance of thunderstorms Thursday *RISK*
⚾️ Pitching Primer
Tarik Skubal at SEA
Skubal gets an incredible matchup against the Mariners at the best pitcher’s park in the league.
Zack Wheeler was just in this spot and he allowed two hits over eight innings while striking out nine.
Skubal has the sixth-lowest xFIP (2.83) and the eighth-highest K/9 (10.69).
Seattle strikes out at the highest rate in the league (27.5%).
George Kirby vs DET and Luis Castillo vs DET
I don’t trust Detroit on offense at this point.
Without Riley Greene their lineup is a bunch of Triple-A players plus Gio Urshela and the awful Javier Baez.
Both Castillo and Kirby can have high floors, and this matchup against the Tigers gives them some upside as well.
Dylan Cease at PIT
It’s hard to be hotter than both Dylan Cease and Blake Snell right now.
Cease just no-hit the Nationals and followed that up with a solid outing against the tough Dodgers lineup.
He has allowed one run over his last four starts and has struck out 36.
Pittsburgh strikes out at the eighth-highest rate (24.3%) and this park is great for pitching.
Blake Snell looks great too I just couldn’t write about everyone :)
Other Starters Include:
Blake Snell at WSH
Chris Sale vs MIL
Shota Imanaga vs MIN
Hunter Greene at MIA
Cole Ragans vs BOS
Tyler Glasnow vs PHI
Taj Bradley at STL
Pablo Lopez at CHC
📞 Call To The Bullpen
We should be focusing on the eight teams playing four games this week, however, the Marlins, Phillies, and Diamondbacks are using a Closer-Committee, thus cutting into the upside of everyone.
Closers with FOUR games:
Alexis Diaz - CIN
Edwin Diaz - NYM
Camilo Doval - SFG
Ryan Helsley - STL
Kyle Finnegan - WSH
💰 Stacks
Mets
The weather looks iffy on Thursday but otherwise this is an excellent spot for the Mets.
They rank sixth in ISO (.170), fifth in wRC+ (113), and eighth in wOBA (.323) on the year.
They will play one game in St. Louis before traveling to Colorado to face some soft pitching, to put it kindly.
Reds
Cincinnati gets a ballpark downgrade here but four games against the Marlins usually pushes you to the top of the rankings.
Elly De La Cruz is a phenomenal play, and I like India, Steer, and Friedl as well.
Giants
The matchup against Patrick Corbin alone is enough to like the Giants this week.
They will face three lefties here so I love Tyler Fitzgerald, Matt Chapman, Mark Canha, and Heliot Ramos if he plays.
Other Stacks Include:
Diamondbacks, Marlins, Athletics, Phillies
