Welcome to the Sorare MLB GW47 Breakdown.
For those new here, I provide an all-in-one place to prepare Sorare MLB managers for the upcoming Game Week every Monday and Friday.
Feel free to message me on X at @Hunter_Himself if you have any questions or want to see something added to the newsletter!
Let’s dive in!
⏪ Game Week Rewind
I had my best finish in Champion this past Game Week.
I will be using the victory cash to upgrade my RP’s.
Thanks Kenley.
I also want to shoutout Eric Anderberg who took second in Rare All Star this week.
He knows how to pick relief pitchers, unlike myself.
And finally a shoutout to Kribbs, who finished first in Limited All Star.
Kribbs has dominated the Chases, but this was his first first-place finish.
I had a great conversation with Kribbs on Sideline Talk not long ago.
📋 Roster Movements

🔎 Multi Game Monitor
All teams play three games!
☔️ Rain Check
The weather looks great for baseball this weekend.
Queens has a slight issue on Saturday, but they could likely squeak in a doubleheader on Sunday in the unlikely case it’s needed.
New York (CIN at NYM) - 65% PM showers Saturday
⚾️ Pitching Primer
Chris Sale vs TOR
Sale did not disappoint against the Rockies in his last start, and he draws another soft matchup here.
The bottom half of Toronto’s lineup looks like a Triple-A team and Sale should carve right through them.
The Jays strike out in the bottom half of the league (20.2%) but Sale is essentially matchup-proof.
He leads the league in xFIP (2.55) and K/9 (11.54).
Tarik Skubal at OAK
There were rumblings that Skubal might be on a pitch count to finish the season, but the left-hander threw 98 in his last outing against Boston.
He’s had at least eight strikeouts in eight of his last ten games.
He’s second in xFIP (2.87) and fifth in xFIP (10.75) this year, and now he draws Oakland.
The A’s strikeout at the fourth-highest rate in baseball (24.8%).
Freddy Peralta vs COL
Freddy doesn’t have the same consistency that the above two guys have, but his numbers on the season are still excellent, and he draws one of the best possible matchups.
Colorado strikes out at the second-highest rate (26.5%), and Peralta is eighth in K/9 (10.25).
His xFIP is 3.98, which puts him outside the top 30 of qualified pitchers, but in a matchup like this we can just bank on the strikeouts.
Other Starters Include:
Zach Eflin vs TBR
Nick Pivetta vs CWS
Framber Valdez vs ARI
Cole Ragans vs MIN
Zack Wheeler at MIA
Dylan Cease vs SFG
Logan Gilbert at STL
📞 Call To The Bullpen
We should note that the Yankees are using a closer committee now, so Clay Holmes gets downgraded.
Jason Foley is also listed as in a committee for the Tigers.
I would maybe avoid Robert Suarez right now, as he has pitched in four of his last six, and looked awful last night in a blown save.
Closer Options:
Emmanuel Clase - CLE - Hasn’t pitched in three days
Josh Hader - HOU - Hasn’t pitched in six games
Mason Miller - OAK - Hasn’t pitched in four games
Edwin Diaz - NYM - Has pitched once over the last four days
Alexis Diaz - CIN - Has pitched once over the last four days
💰 Stacks
Brewers
Give me all the Jackson Chourio this week.
He’s been doing everything at the dish right now, and he draws two bad lefties here.
Milwaukee has a solid lead on the NL Central and are still going to need production from their offense, which is top 10 in both wOBA (.323) and wRC+ (106) this year.
Chourio, Adames, and Contreras are my favorites.
Phillies
Philly has been one of the hottest teams in the league, and now they draw a highly favorable matchup against the Marlins.
All three of these dudes are righties, so Kyle Schwarber is another fantastic play.
He’s hit four homers over his last three games.
Philly is top 10 in ISO (.166), wOBA (.326), wRC+ (108) this year.
Tigers
If you want some value you can look at Detroit bats.
The Mariners put up 28 runs in their four-game series against this pitching staff.
Parker Meadows for Detroit hit a miraculous go-ahead grand slam last night against the Padres.
Perhaps don’t prioritize him, but I love Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson at the top in particular.
None of these guys will be expensive in the Sorare marketplace if you need a quick pickup for this week.
Other Stacks Include:
Rangers, Red Sox, Yankees, Mets
