Welcome to the Sorare MLB GW6 Breakdown!

For those new here, I provide an all-in-one place to prepare Sorare MLB managers for the upcoming Game Week every Monday and Friday.

Feel free to message me on X at @Hunter_Himself if you have any questions.

Let’s dive in!

📢 Shoutouts

“Snuff” took down Limited Champion with an Astros stack with Junior Caminero, and Cal Raleigh.

Two of these cards were energized, and David Peterson didn’t need to have a huge game to push this team to the top.

Also, there was a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina this weekend to support bringing MLB to the city, and Cal Raleigh hits a homer in each game in this Game Week.

Doesn’t seem like a coincidence to me.

📋 Roster Movements

In:

Spencer Strider - Should return to Braves rotation April 16th

Marcus Stroman - Placed on 15-day IL with left knee inflammation

🔎 Multi Game Monitor

Four Games:

Tigers, Royals, Mets, Yankees, Phillies, Pirates, Giants, Cardinals, Rays, Nationals

⚾️ Pitching Primer

Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs COL

Yamamoto has been incredible this season, allowing just 3 runs over his four starts and racking up 28 strikeouts. Colorado failed to record a run in their series against San Diego and they are leading MLB with a 29.3% K-rate.

Paul Skenes vs WSH

Washington just lost CJ Abrams to the IL, but they have been playing better ball than last year. But that doesn’t matter too much when facing Skenes. He has the fourth-best xFIP (2.25) and has hovered around 100 pitches over his last two starts.

Tarik Skubal at MIL

Skubal proved he’s matchup-proof with his 6-strikeout, zero-runs-allowed matchup versus the Yankees in his last start. Milwaukee has been about league-average on offense so far this year and Skubal should keep it rolling.

Other Starters Include:

  • Dylan Cease vs CHC

  • Framber Valdez at STL

  • Jacob deGrom vs LAA

  • Spencer Schwellenbach at TOR

  • Max Fried vs KCR

  • Luis Castillo at CIN

💰 Stacks

Yankees

If I’m betting on any of the 10 teams playing four games this week, it’s the Yankees.

The pitching matchups aren’t actually that great, but three of these games will be at Yankees Stadium, and the fourth will be at Steinbrenner Field.

The Yankees are leading MLB this season in wRC+ by a sizable margin at 142 and we know this team can do damage against anyone.

Three of these pitchers are righties and one is a lefty so don’t shy away from the Yankees lefties, especially with the short porch in right in New York.

Pirates

Pittsburgh sits in the basement in the wOBA column this year (.255) but they have the best matchup amongst the teams with four games.

Washington pitching has been poor this year and their best pitcher, MacKenzie Gore, won’t get a start here.

Don’t overdo it but I like a Bryan Reynolds/Oneil Cruz mini stack here.

Other Stacks Include:

Mets, Phillies, Dodgers, Athletics (gross, but great matchup)
