⚾️ Pitching Primer
I’m trying something a little different in this section.
I’m going to start including the FantasyPros Pitcher Rank next to each player’s name.
These ranks have helped me a lot in the past and it’s a great way to sort things here.
Tarik Skubal vs KCR (SP2)
Skubal is 13th in xFIP (2.91) and has shown he can put up big games in any matchup. This one against KCR isn’t threatening as they currently boast the worst wRC+ in baseball (65).
Paul Skenes vs CLE (SP3)
Cleveland strikes out at about league-average, but Skenes is one of the best strikeout pitchers in baseball. Start Skenes every time he starts.
Zack Wheeler vs MIA (SP4)
Wheeler’s stats get a boost here in a soft matchup against the fish. They K at the sixth-highest rate in MLB (25%).
Logan Gilbert at TOR (SP5)
Toronto has been striking out just 18.2% of the time this season, but Gilbert has the third-highest K/9 of any starter (12.71).
Other Starters Include:
Chris Sale vs MIN (SP6)
Garrett Crochet vs CWS (SP8)
Yoshinobu Yamamoto at TEX (SP10)
Cole Ragans at DET (SP11)
Dylan Cease at HOU (SP12)
Tyler Glasnow at TEX (SP18)
Freddy Peralta vs ATH (SP20)
💰 Stacks
Nationals
The Nats head to Colorado to face three pitchers ranked 270 or higher on FantasyPros.
Washington has an inexperienced offense but their offensive numbers looks better then what they averaged last season.
They currently have the 21st-best wRC+ (92) and are tied for the 17th-most homers in MLB with 19.
This spot in Colorado should boost these numbers even further.
Red Sox
Boston seems to keep drawing great matchups this season, but they haven’t exactly performed how we’d want them to in these spots.
Triston Casas hasn’t been playing well, but I like the idea of a Jarren Duran, Trevor Story, Rafael Devers stack here.
This game will be at Fenway, too, which is a huge boost to the overall offense.
Phillies
A matchup against Sandy Alcantara isn’t ideal, but I prefer to stack the Phillies against righties and they will get three of them here.
Citizens Bank Park is great for offense and I love the idea of a Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber stack here.
Other Stacks Include:
Dodgers, Yankees, Brewers
